issue with checkout field

    Hello,

    We’ve encountered an ongoing issue with our checkout process.

    When a customer fails to input their phone number, the system correctly prompts with a “phone number required” message. However, upon entering a phone number afterward, an unexpected “not allowed” message appears beneath the initial prompt. This issue disrupts the checkout flow, as it neither returns to the top of the page nor allows for successful completion until the page is manually refreshed. Subsequently, customers may experience difficulty completing their purchase, particularly older individuals. Any idea what the issue might be? I am assuming it might have to do with this plugin as I have turned off other plugins to check if they are intervening.

    on inspect it shows like this:

    <ul class=”woocommerce-error” role=”alert”> <li data-id=”billing_phone”> <strong>Billing Phone</strong> is a required field. </li> <li”>Not Allowed</li”></ul>

    1. System Status Report which you can find via WooCommerce > Status > Get system report > Copy for support.
    2. Fatal error logs (if any) under WooCommerce > Status > Logs.

    I see you are using Woo 8.9, has this issue started happening when you updated to 8.9?
    Can you please update to 8.9.1 to check if it persists?

    You mentioned disabling some plugins, right? Have you tried disabling all of them (but Woo) and switching to Storefront to check if the issue persists?

    Morning,

    I have tried disabling them all, including the theme.

    This problem has been here for at least 3 months, I am not sure if it was there beforehand as I didn’t work here at that time. I have tried again after updating the plugin, this did not do anything it’s still doing the “not allowed”

    Can you switch to the checkout block to see if the issue persists?
    To do that you can go to the checkout page editor and switch the shortcode block with the Checkout block.

    Can you please confirm for us which payment gateway/plugin you are using?

    Also, would you be able to temporarily deactivate this payment method and activate Cash On Delivery (which is a default WooCommerce payment method) and check if the issue persists on both short code and checkout block?

    The reason I’m asking is so we can try to pinpoint what exactly is causing the error.

    I believe you mean Woo 9.0, correct?
    I checked and I couldn’t find any mention regarding changing the product import/export. So this should remain the same. You can find more about this in this guide.

    I managed to get the staging plugin to work by resolving a memory issue, which allowed me to test the problem properly. I found that the issue disappears when the payment plugin is turned off. Does this mean that the payment plugin needs fixing?

    Additionally, I’m encountering a problem with pagination. The theme providers claim it’s a WooCommerce issue rather than a theme issue.

    If you visit this page: Country Style Meats Butchery on a mobile device, you’ll see that the pagination is misaligned, pushing away from the header and footer.

    I might need to change the CSS to display: flex; and justify-content: center;, but that doesn’t look ideal either.

    I’ve tried making adjustments in woocommerce.php but haven’t found a satisfactory solution. Could you provide any suggestions?

    I tried to replicate this on my website, but couldn’t. On the twenty twenty-four theme (and other themes as well) the pagination is correctly placed.

    So it is possible something else is affecting this.

    Can you please run a conflict test to check if the issue persists?

    Please switch to the Storefront theme and deactivate all plugins except for WooCommerce and take a look. If that fixes the problem, re-enable the other plugins one by one (gradually), checking after each, to see where the issue is coming from.

    — Be sure you have a good backup in place of your full site and database. You can ask your host for backup functionality or you can consider using a service like Jetpack. If something goes wrong, you will be able to restore it.

    — It is important to consider as well a staging functionality in case you would not like to touch your production site (you can ask your host if they offer this service), or you can use WP Staging for quickly spinning up a new test site.

    Good afternoon, I decided to just use flex wrap instead, it gives the same effect as storefront, so although not as “pretty” as I’d like, it will do. 🙂 It at least stops it from looking “broken”.
