issue with author tracking in GA (1 post)

    hi,

    i set up author name tracking within the custom variables but analytics doesn't track it. i manually inserted the tracking code into the header, not sure if that has anything to do with it.

    <script type="text/javascript">

    var _gaq = _gaq || [];
    _gaq.push(['_setAccount', 'UA-2639852-1']);
    _gaq.push(['_setDomainName', '.myomnipod.com']);
    _gaq.push(['_trackPageview']);
    _gaq.push(['_trackPageLoadTime']);

    (function() {
    var ga = document.createElement('script'); ga.type = 'text/javascript'; ga.async = true;
    ga.src = ('https:' == document.location.protocol ? 'https://ssl' : 'http://www') + '.google-analytics.com/ga.js';
    var s = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(ga, s);
    })();

    </script>

    do i also need to add the following text snippet because i inserted the GA code manually? i wouldn't think so...

    1 <?php
    2 if ( function_exists( 'yoast_analytics' ) ) {
    3 yoast_analytics();
    4 }
    5 ?>

    any other ideas or advice?

    thanks!
