issue whit the_excerpt (2 posts)

    I’m testing wpweaver (a child theme fo Twenty Ren) on mi site http://www.gundam-uc.info (which in reality is the mirror site testing of the production site located at http://www.universalcentury.it).

    I have many pages where there are queries.
    The results of these queries are then sorted into tables (one result per cell).

    It remains a mystery to me why it appears the line “continue reading” below each result.

    Here are some examples:

    I think there is a bit ‘of confusion in the code, because the “continue reading” should appear if the query had asked the the_content (and in the single post there was the command “more”).
    The query instead call the_excerpt (http://codex.wordpress.org/Excerpt).

    Given that the result of the query is correct , how come I get the “continue reading”?

    P.S. http://www.universalcentury.it/models/master-grade/guida-mg-1997
    are the same pages on my production site, using mandigo theme.

    check the original twenty ten theme - showing a 'continue reading' with excerpts is programmed in;

    done in functions.php (of the original twenty ten):

     * Replaces "[...]" (appended to automatically generated excerpts) with an ellipsis and twentyten_continue_reading_link().
     * To override this in a child theme, remove the filter and add your own
     * function tied to the excerpt_more filter hook.
     * @since Twenty Ten 1.0
     * @return string An ellipsis
    function twentyten_auto_excerpt_more( $more ) {
    	return ' …' . twentyten_continue_reading_link();
    add_filter( 'excerpt_more', 'twentyten_auto_excerpt_more' );

    you could try to add:

    remove_filter( 'excerpt_more', 'twentyten_auto_excerpt_more' );

    to functions.php of the child theme.
