issue whit tables

I’m testing wpweaver (a child theme fo Twenty Ten) on my site http://www.gundam-uc.info (which in reality is the mirror site testing of the production site located at http://www.universalcentury.it).

I have (big) problems whit the alignment of the row and columns: the valign is ignored!

Here two examples:

In both cases, there is a table with 1 row and 3 columns (the column in the middle is 5 pixels wide and only serves to ensure a space between the contents of the other 2 columns).

As you see, in both cases is the image of the left column that interferes with the right hand column.

I also experienced all alignments of the image, and only if <img src=”…” align=”left”> (or align = “right”), the contents of the left column respects the valign (see http://www.gundam-uc.info/mechanics/rx-75-4).
