Issue updating themes

Updated our site themes (Genesis. Twenty Twelve, Twenty Fourteen, etc.) and now cannot login to admin page–receive Fatal Error that appears to be related to Genesis Simple Edits plugin. It says error is “call to undefined function genesis_html5()”.

Have you heard of this issue/have a solution? Should I deactivate this plugin and see if that solves the issue?
