Hello! Your plugin is fantastic and it does a great job.

I am having 1 tiny issue though which I’m hoping is easy to fix. I am using your plugin on a multi-lingual site using WPML. However my Media Category taxonomy term names are singular and are not allowed to be translated. WPML has a feature to allow translation, but the Media Category taxonomy is now shown there.

This support thread from WPML explains how to alter the code to allow for translation:
    https://wpml.org/forums/topic/translating-custom-taxonomy-not-working/

Is it possible to implement this so that terms can be translated? Thank you.

  • Actually, never mind! I found the solution and your plugin code does not need any changing.

For anyone else interested, I dug a little deeper and found a solution on this page: https://wpml.org/documentation/beginners-guide-to-site-translation/translating-taxonomy/

“To be able to translate custom taxonomies, you need to set them as “translatable” in WPML.

To make you custom taxonomies translatable, go to the WPML -> Translation Management page and click on the Multilingual Content Setup tab. There, scroll to the Custom taxonomies section and set your custom taxonomy to one of the Translate options.”

    Hello Amanda,

Yes, Enhanced Media Library creates ready for translation taxonomies. You have to make them translatable with WPML settings as your link describes.

Thank you for your kind words about the plugin! Please feel free to ask for assistance any time you need it.

    Best,
    -Nadia
