ISP recommendation

    Hi,

I am due to change my ISP and I am thinking about moving to WordPress also.

Does anyone have any ISP recommendations?

    Thanks

    Lee

Do you mean hosting rather than ISP (internet service provider)? The latter really depends on what is available where you live.

There are the WordPress recommended web hosts.

Personally, I prefer Hostgator. They’re not the cheapest host out there, but I have had a good experience with them over the past several years for a number of clients. They provide cPanel access to a lot of things that come in handy with WordPress, and the PHP EZ-Config in cPanel is activated on their servers, which makes it easy to tweak a custom php.ini.

You’ll find a lot of hosts offer “1-click installs” of WordPress or quick installations via Fantastico. The installation of WordPress is so easy I recommend doing it manually using the handy guide. Not only is it good experience, but I find that it is often more trouble-free than the automated installers.

Good luck, and welcome to WordPress.

Per the Forum welcome, we close topics like this due to the amount of spam that they attract. The WordPress team has provided a list of a few recommended hosting providers. For more details and other recommendations, please search through the forums or via Google (or your preferred search engine).

(Note: By closing this post I neither support nor condemn the use of the servers listed on the wordpress.org official hosting page, and encourage you to search around.)
