ISP (as ASP) setup

  • Hi, I work for Iceland’s second biggest ISP, and we’re trying to bring a hosted bloggar-application to our users. Stumbled across your web via the http://muxway.org/ blog.
Would you object to the adaptation of WordPress to suit our users’s needs, such as intergrating the sign-in feature with our current customer base (to allow single-sign-on), integration with our webmail and such. Have you got any experience (or requests) about this aspect?
    Cheers from cool Iceland

  • You can do whatever you like with it as long as you abide by the GPL license.

The GPL basically says that you can modify and distribute WordPress as long as you make the source, including your changes, available upon request. Sending your changes back to the community so that they can be incorporated is good form.

Rboren… you are a little vauge..
For setting up an ASP setup, you can keep all changes to your self, unless you distribute your code to others ( which isn’t usually done with asp type stuff as it all stays on one server ). Of course any bugfixes or improvements are welcome even if they are not required.
