Is WP suitable for my planned website at all?

Hi, I am interested in tower clockworks and I’d like put a website based around my hobby.
I think about a site where there would be clockworks around the world listed with the pictures and short description plus maybe Google maps.

The clockworks should be categorized upon the continent or country where they are or by important features.
As a visitor, you should be able not only to see them but to log in and add your own picture , a link for a new clockwork.
I also think that it would be nice to have some sort of forum where the questions could be asked and answered.
As I have found WordPress very user friendly I’d happy to use it as a platform.
Is there any theme which could match my requirements or , better question, is WP suitable for building such a website?
