Support » Plugins and Hacks » Is wp-lifestream plugin dead?

  • Hello,

I am developing a website which pulls status updates from several social networks (twitter, facebook, etc.) and turns them into wordpress blog posts.

I was hoping to use the Lifestream plugin by David Cramer but the forum is dead. There are several issues with the current 0.99.9.8 BETA release.

Does anybody know how to fix the Lifestream plugin or have another solution for how to pull status updates from social networks?

    Thanks!

  • I just ran into the same issue. This one looks like its the best but it has no forum =(.

Sad, I’d like to see more work on this plugin.

    Is there a good alternative?

For what it’s worth, there is an updated version over on GitHub: https://github.com/dcramer/wp-lifestream

The latest one there is working fine for me, but it does seem this project suffers from more interest from users than developers. With the demise of sweetcron, there just aren’t many good options for self-hosting lifestreams.

    Thanks a lot. I’ll try.

I use the one up on github also. It still has the digest issues for me, so I just have it posting once a week, and clean up the duplicated digest entries by hand. It kind of sucks.
