Is WordPress the right solution for us?

Hi,

I am looking to build a consumer facing automotive site and I am hoping for information on whether WordPress is the right solution for this project.

Without getting into too much detail here, the expected site traffic is ~500K unique users a month with ~3 million+ page views. Moreover, the site will include database-heavy features such as “car research” tools, “comparison” tools, searching for new & used car listings, etc. All these tools will need to work with complex data structures.

Are there any examples of similar sites that have been built using WordPress? Any insights or examples you can provide will be very useful.
