  • I want to run small community (max 1000 people) on WordPress
    The site should contsist of:
    1. NEWS
    2. EVENTS
    5. FORUM DNB STH 1

and i want just only 10 people post to NEWS and EVENTS category — for others it is possible to post to NEWS ans EVENTS but it should be send to administrator for confirming before it appears in NEWS or EVENTS category. For other categories it should work as a normal forum, so guys post some topic, and others comment or discuss it.

    Is it possible?
(sorry if question is stupid, am a newbie so just started exploring stuff)

  • actually i dont want to use forum plugin (bbpress), but to use categories w/ different permissions.

    or should i rtfm? 🙂

bbPress is not a plugin of WordPress, but a separate piece of software. There are a lot of similarities between the two, such as the plugin architecture. But they don’t work together out of the box.

WordPress is first and foremost a blogging tool. It can be made to do a lot of things, and there are hacks and plugins that try to tie it to bbs’ or other products, but if you’re looking for tight integration between the news/events and forum elements on your site, you may be better off with one of the more community-oriented CMS’ out there like Drupal.

okay, sorry now i realized how stupid was my post. can i delete it?
