Is WB DB Abstraction still the *right* way to run WordPress on SQL Server?

  • Is WP Db Abstraction considered the right way to run WordPress on SQL Server these days? The project does not seem to have been updated since 2011.

I am using the wp-db-abstraction plugin.

I am getting db errors when I go to the Tools->Import->WordPress page. It looks like errors translating the mysql to tsql. Examples below. Just to be clear, the errors are not from importing the data. They are generated merely by navigating to the import page.

WordPress database error: [[Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 11.0][SQL Server]Incorrect syntax near 'wp_subscribe2'.]
    SELECT TABLE_NAME FROM INFORMATION_SCHEMA.TABLES WHERE TABLE_NAME LIKE ' N'wp_subscribe2''
