Is version 2 still Flexible Width?

  • I’ve recently updated to F2 2.0 when I changed hosting.

    I’ve built it to look right at 1280 px resolution.

    I’ve noticed that on computers running higher resolution the content area appears to be fixed width, with wide background borders on the side.

    Is there a way to make the content area grow in width for users running higher resolutions?

  • Can you set a percentage max-width value on <div id="page">?

    I’m not sure. I have this in screen.css:

    .one-sidebar-right.narrow-sidebar #page, .one-sidebar-left.narrow-sidebar #page {
      max-width: 970px;
      /* ( 20 + 730 + 20 ) + ( 20 + 160 + 20 ) */
      max-width: 97rem;

    Does that theme come with a section in the dashboard named, “Custom CSS” or “Jetpack”, or are you using a Child Theme?

    I believe the answers are no, no, and no.

    Jetpack may have been a plugin that came with it, but I deleted it before ever activating it.

    That code I pasted above is not the correct one. Its for the 2 sidebar option, and I’m only running a single narrow right one.

    Download (and activate) the Jetpack plugin and use its Custom CSS option to hold this;

    .one-sidebar-right.narrow-sidebar #page,
    .one-sidebar-left.narrow-sidebar #page {
     max-width: 74%;
    }

    Play about with the 74 number to what you want.
