  • Resolved Richardb

After the shambles of the latest releases I unistalled Yost SEO v14.1, I’ve not renewed my subsciption so…what is the story to date?

I must add that I think Yoast did an appauling job of handling the whole issue. I don’t know how you test but I hope that you have overhauled your testing process, definately not fit for purpose. And you really need to TALK to your user base, when there is a problem.

@richardb First, we want to apologize for any problems caused by the 14.0-14.1 updates. Please know we are working hard on resolving the issues with those version as quickly as possible.

The 14.0 release of the plugin included major changes to how the plugin accessed a site’s metadata, which unfortunately caused a large number of unforeseen bugs in the initial releases of version 14. We also have more information on this in the following article:

Suffice to say that whereas the initial release of Yoast SEO 14.0 did have a large number of issues, we have addressed and resolved them in subsequent releases and the current version (14.8) is stable.

Yes? So stable that it broke the canonical on websites!

Millions pages of hundreds webmasters will disappear from the Google index! great job!
