    Hi guys,

I just received an e-mail apparently from Statcounter that starts:

    Hi John,

Your project The Supercargo is now using 100% of its log size. If you don’t want to lose any of your detailed data, then it would be a good time to upgrade. If you don’t mind losing this old data, then no action is required on your part.

But I don’t believe I have the Statcounter plugin installed on thesupercargo.com. I certainly can’t find it in my plug-in directory. I use WP’s Jetpack and Google Analytics.

Is this a legitimate message from you or is someone trying to scam me?

    Thanks,

    John

  • Hi John,

Very sorry for the confusion! This is indeed a real email from us.

We just started a program alerting people if their log is full in case they want to upgrade to prevent losing old stats.

Over the years we’ve had many members contact us *after* the stats have been removed in hopes of getting them back which is not possible. So now we send out this email.

Because this is a new thing we’re doing some people who haven’t used us in some time are getting emails which is causing confusion – apologies! In all likelyhood the log for this site/project was full *some time ago*.

I hope this provided some clarity!

Many thanks for your patience and understanding. Do let us know if you ever need anything.
