    Hi,

I have been trying to translate this in wordpress 4.7.x and 4.8.x:

“Your membership account is awaiting approval by the site administrator. You will not be able to fully interact with the social aspects of this website until your account is approved. Once approved or denied you will receive an email notice.”

But it always shows the English text.
    Is this a bug?

It’s definitely translation ready, as shown below:

    $activate_message = __( 'Your membership account is awaiting approval by the site administrator. You will not be able to fully interact with the social aspects of this website until your account is approved. Once approved or denied you will receive an email notice.', 'bp-registration-options' );

Some quick questions to try and help.
Would you be willing to share your po/mo file pair?
Are you making sure to compile a new .mo file when doing the edits?
Did you use the current .pot file provided with the plugin?

    Yes.
I’m using the “Loco translate” plugin.
I don’t know how the “Loco translate” works.

    P.S.

I have tried now to change the translation of the page to “Deutsch”
and it shows me the English translation.

“Your membership account is awaiting approval by the site administrator. You will not be able to fully interact with the social aspects of this website until your account is approved. Once approved or denied you will receive an email notice.

    Instead of:
“Ihr Mitgliedschaftskonto muss noch von einem Administrator freigeschaltet werden. Sie werden nicht in der Lage sein die Funktionen dieser Website voll auszunutzen, solange das Konto nicht freigeschaltet worden ist. Einmal freigeschaltet oder abgeleht werden Sie eine Email-Mitteilung erhalten.”

Suddenly hit me and I remembered we store the messages as options in the wp_options table, which would negate any attempts to translate, without also editing the default message and hitting save, at least if working from a non-new install. I need to test some things as well to further confirm this theory.

Stay tuned, I’ll try and get something back to you soon, regarding this.

    😀 Cool.
