Is this a good scenario for Multisite?

    I have a client who want to have a company website built. They have 2 departments and want each department to have different content, different menu etc…

    They want the same website url e.g mycompany.com

    so the department bits would be:
    mycompany.com/dept1
    mycompany.com/dept2

    I am presuming this is a time use multisite. They want to have a main page at the url mycompany.com which gives the user the option of going to department 1 or department 2….

    Does anyone know of a site that does something similar – all the multisite example are for big sites.

    It’s not a bad way to use it. The biggest reason in your situation is the separation of departments, so one department can’t modify another departments pages as they’d be able to in a single-site installation.
