Is there such a thing as a totally customisable theme? (6 posts)

Truly I am the ultimate virgin with WordPress. I have installed Wamp and WordPress but the default theme, Twenty Thirteen leaves much to be desired when it comes to the visualization I wish to show (for the lack of a better word).

I guess what I am looking for is the ability to build a site from "scratch". With a single color/textured full page background, overlaid image and desired "links" to the content that I want my visitors, customers and clients to see. I really don't think I need a full site "daily blog", detailing my actions and whatnot.

Would all you experts here PLEASE point me in the direction I am looking to go? I do have some rough ideas saved as JPEGs That I could share if someone is willing to point me.

It does need to be easily edited and published rapidly though. This is the reason I chose WordPress for this endeavor.

If you know HTML and CSS you may want to check out some "blank" themes -

Or a couple of highly configurable themes:

Thanks WPyogi for the links. I am checking them out as I write this. Guaranteed I will be back with more questions. And yes,,, this IS the first time I have used WordPress so there will be some VERY "noob" questions asked. But in an over-all opinion of the product. This is the premier tool for getting your message to the masses.

Have a look at this new hybrid I think might have a promising future:

I really don't think I need a full site "daily blog", detailing my actions and whatnot.

Select a static page at Dashboard > Appearance > Customize and forget the others are even there.

Well I have downloaded Customizr and Tiny+Forge. Is there anything special I need to know when installing these themes?

The Customizr really has the "live" look, interactive, moving. Maybe that's my ADHD manifesting itself again. Guess I will start there.

    HA !!!

For themes and plugins, I think it can be helpful to take a look at their respective support forums to see what might be ahead and to see what actual support they have:
