Interest groupings are also for the free version but this requires a bit more work. Actually, as the integration with third-party forms should be short and concise it is not yet built into the interface of the plugin to easily add “interest groups” and other fields to forms like your comments form.
This is possible but it requires a bit of work. Should you decide to go Pro, I’d be happy to help you set this up.
If you want to stay with the free version, have a developer take a look at the various hooks provided by my plugin.

Thank you for the answer in any case. I do everything by myself so I don’t have a developer to take a look for me.
Anyway, what I have now it doesn’t really work. Because if I have interest groups on my list, people that subscribe now won’t be subscribed to any group so I’ll have to add them manually to one of them, right?
I might go pro but not straight away. Do you have a demo on how it is styled with 2 or more interest groups? So to see how all the checkboxes appear more or less?

Hi David,
The styling of the checkboxes is completely customizable. As a default, they will try to pick-up the styles from your theme.
You can optionally load a checkbox reset stylesheet which will make sure checkboxes align properly etc.
Not much of a demo I can give here as we can customize the looks of it to our hearts content. 🙂 A lot depends on your theme.
