Support » Plugin: Contact Form 7 » Is there no encryption at all for this plugin!?

  • I’m surprised all these years there’s no proper tutorial or video or documentation provided by the plugin authors on encrypted emails. It’s useless without an encrypted messaging system

  • As a fellow CF7 user, and a former email server admin, I am not at all surprised by this. Setting up encryption on an email server is no small task, and is far, far outside the scope of a contact form plugin.

    Besides that, if you send a confirmation email to the user, you’d have to require that the end-user’s email server support encryption, which is out of your control, and which this plugin would have no way of knowing. For that matter, the plugin has no way of knowing if your own server is secured.

    If you’re concerned about improving the deliver-ability of your form submission emails, I recommend you get a transactional email account (Postmark, SparkPost, Mailgun, etc.). Most of them should have WP plugins that let you route any email sent by WordPress (or plugins) through their “secure” servers.

    @nosilver4u thanks for explaining this.
