• Hi all.

A long time ago, when I was starting up my website. I asked on this forum if I should integrate wordpress into my site or vice versa (ie. try to get all my other non-wordpress pages to work in wordpress). In the end, I decided to make a normal website and try to slowly integrate the functionality of wordpress (loops) into the site.

For the most past, it has been working.. however it has been *alot* of work and headaches..

Currently my latest test page is at http://www.stevelim.com/indextest2.html and my blog (pure vanilla wordpress) is at http://www.stevelim.com/blog.

Ultimately, the goal is to get the blog to look like what I have now, but with all its functionality intact.

What confuses me alot is how the imported themes work vs calling wordpress loops via php in my own webpages. I wish someone could explain the key differences.

    To some specific questions..

#1 You might notice that on a normal blog like mine, there is a way to edit your posts. How do I add that to my main page?

#2 Also, I have limited the number of displayed posts to 5. How can I add an entry to view the next entries as wordpress normally does?

Thanks to anyone that can help clear this up.

  • What do you mean with “the goal is to get the blog to look like what I have now, but with all its functionality intact”?

I’d say start with WordPress, and add whatever missing functionality WordPress doesn’t have by default. That seems to me the best way to go about it. What is the functionality you’re missing then?
