Is There an .htaccess File on Windows If Using IIS?

  • I have noticed that a lot of the technical instructions for WordPress mentino the .htaccess file very often.

I installed WordPress on Windows under IIS. Am I still supposed to see or have .htaccess files anywhere?

No. Windows servers do not support .htaccess.

What is it that you are needing and/or trying to accomplish? Just because windows doesnt support .htaccess doesnt meant you cant accomplish what you are trying to do. If you need assistance, please let us know. 🙂
