Is there a way to ignore some input forms from other plugins, or to just use the stop spammers feature to block bad registrations and logins (and skip all the other forms and comments tests)?

Just had a user try to submit a legit form submission, and it got blocked – perhaps for including a url (maybe), or it might have just been the “author too short” thing. (I’ll update to the beta version with the fix for short author and see if that’s the problem.)

But, still would be handy to be able to just block bad registrations and logins if that was an easy option.

    Thanks again for plugin,
    Wayne

The current beta version has an option to limit checks to just the comments and login programs that come with WP. Any other form in any other program will be ignored.

You can try it by downloading the latest stable version at http://www.blogseye.com on the beta test page.

Hmm… I don’t think that’s going to work for my situtation, as I use the “Theme My Login” plugin for the reg/login/forgot forms, and have checked “Filter Login Requests” in SSSP.

If you use a plugin for the form then stop spammers may not know there was a login/registration and so can’t check it for spam.

I am using ver 6.15 along with the “Theme My Login” plugin. SSSP is definitely working with the TML forms and does the proper checks – I’ve tested to make sure. Works great! 🙂 TML must be using all the proper WP hooks or whatever and it’s own forms.

I’ll test it out and see if the beta works for me.

I’ve installed ver 6.16 and selected the option to “Only use the plugin for standard WordPress forms”. That seems to be working after having tested a non login.php form submission.

Continuing to test and having some trouble understanding if using the email address “tester@tester.com” is supposed to trigger a block even if the test is coming from my current admin approved IP address. I’m using a different non-logged in browser to try to register from, and it was not blocked 🙁

Sorry… Also, is ver 6.16 still checking for “author too short”?

I remember changing to separate checks for author too long and author too short. I can’t remember what I fixed, but I know I fixed it.

Okay, so just want to let you know that everything is AWESOME 🙂

There’s a check box in 6.16 “Check for short emails or author name” Un-checking that is what I needed to get my non login form to work.

If I use the option “Only use the plugin for standard WordPress forms” then the Theme My Login pages do not get inspected for trouble.

I also have the “Filter Login Requests” checked.

Looks like this combination of settings in ver 6.16 will get the job done for my situation.

Will let you know if that’s not the case.

    Thanks
    Wayne
