is there a lightbox plugin that doesn't use thumbnails?

  • This might seem a bit unusual, but space is very limited, and I’m hoping I can do something a bit different. One page on my site is going to have a small table (4×4 data cells). I’d like to configure it so, when a user hovers over a particular data cell, it gives a lightbox image as supplementary information for that cell.

Any ideas whether this can be done? And if so, which lightbox plug might be the best for this?

    Thanks.

  • I think you should do a search for a “Tooltip” plugin instead of a “Lightbox” plugin.

    Hi, Steffen –

Just to be sure I made myself clear, I do want an image (not text) to appear when I hover over (or click on) a cell in my table.

I also only want it to work on selected items, not globally across my site.

Given this, I’m not sure tooltips are the right approach.
