is there a forum that integrates with WordPress?

  • Hello,
I thought I had found a bridge for WP and SMF forum, but it doesn’t work. I searched in the WP plugins directory, and don’t see any other potential integrations. Are there any forums that work with WordPress? Or is bbpress the only option?

  • From the makers of WordPress —- bbPress

    phpbb via wp-united maybe?
    Didn’t try it though.

Thanks for the replies. I installed and integrated bbPress, but I don’t think I like it. I thought that it would integrate into the WordPress layout easier than it does similar to a plugin.

WP-united looks interesting. I don’t really like phpbb, though. I’ve bookmarked it, though.
    Thanks again

well there s a lot talking about this and people are a bit confused. You can integrade almost anything to wordpress sometimes easier, sometimes the hard way. IMHO the best layout integration can be achieved with miniBB which is ultra fast and minimalistic. Check my blog and forums. On the other hand it needs some work to integrade it having the same users with wordpress if that’s what you want, something that bbpress can offer easily with a plugin.

The point is that there’s no ideal solution, try this or that and keep the one which suits you more.

Try this, they have great support for their plugin, Simple Forum found here http://www.stuff.yellowswordfish.com/simple-forum/

Also looks like they have a new version (BETA) 3.0. I would surely explore their site a bit.

    Good luck!
