Support » Plugin: Download Monitor » Is there a file size limit

I recently started using Download Monitor again since the relaunch and it has for the most part been working beautifully. I am so happy to have it back again.

Today however I have discovered that two of my zip files are downloading empty. Both are zips that are over 160mb in size. Is there a maximum limit to the file size which can be downloaded? If so is it possible to change the maxiumum limit?

I don’t have many zip files over 100mb but there are a couple. I would prefer not to have them in multiple zips if possible.

Interesting I am still able to use download them via another download plugin without any issues but I would prefer to keep all my files with Download Monitor.

I would really appreciate some help with this. 🙂

Does no-one have any information on this? Is there a 100mb file size limit for downloads using the download monitor plugin. Is there a better place to get support?

Is there some way I can change the file limit to a bigger size. I have another plugin that downloads 100+ files just fine so it cannot be a server restriction.

I would really appreciate some help with this. I would much prefer to use Download Monitor for all my downloads.

The file size limit you’re seeing is likely the memory limit set in PHP (by your web hosting provider). For large files, e.g. more than 10-20MB, try checking the box “Redirect to file”. This will bypass PHP and send users directly to the file.

Thank you mdmower! That did the trick.
