Is the slider reading the database on each slide?

I noticed that when I change the image for one of the slides, or add a new image to the image set, while at the same time i have the page displayed in another browser window, that the other browser window automatically starts showing the new slide (without me having to refresh the page). It seems the slider is constantly reading from the database each time it changes a slide? (not good). If so, is there any option to prevent that and have it read the list of slides once when the page loads. In another post I mentioned that the slider will stop running after a period of time on it’s own. Perhaps this is why? – That it’s hitting the database on each slide, and if the database isn’t responding temporarily, it stops? Thanks for you efforts!!
