Is the Scoop Premium theme good for SEO?

  • Hi guys and gals,

I’m just getting into wordpress, and my company has tasked me with updating their site cwhighlights.com (It’s still in development, so excuse all the bizarro errors).

I really like the look of the scoop premium theme http://demo.monsterthemes.com/?theme=scoop. But going on their free one, it scores a whoppping 0 on being SEO friendly.

Has anybody used the premium theme? Is there anyway to check if the site is SEO friendly?

    Cheers!

No idea about that particular theme, but in general, it’s recommended to stick with commercial themes from vendors listed here:

    http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/commercial/

If that vendor is not, I’d suggest checking carefully as to the quality/support and whether they comply with the GPL requirements of WP: http://wordpress.org/about/license/

Also, be aware that these forums do not support any commercial themes so be sure that support is part of what you are paying for if you are likely to need it.

    The themes supported here: http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/

BTW, Commercial themes are not necessarily any better than many of the free themes included above.
