The last time I used Yoast (free version) on my own site earlier this year I was able to see/access the Yoast SEO menu at the bottom my WordPress Edit Page section where, among other things, it included a Snippet Preview. On my current clients site that’s running WP 4.9.8 and Yoast 9.2.1, that menu on the Edit Page section is gone, it’s not showing up at all. But more importantly there is no Snippet Preview anywhere in the main Yoast SEO section of WordPress.

I’ve searched the Yoast.com site, the knowledge base and the blog and nowhere does it say that Snippet Preview is now only for Premium version. Nor can I find anyplace that discusses this vanishing Yoast SEO section at the bottom of the Edit Page area.

So where did that Yoast SEO section go and where is the Snippet Preview??

The snippet preview is available in the free plugin.

Please provide the answers to the following:

    1. Have you performed a conflict check? If not, please do so. Did you discover a conflict?
    2. Does the issue occur when using a default theme with only Yoast SEO active?
    3. Is the issue specific to a certain part of your site, like posts, products, categories, etc?

Before I do that, please tell me where that preview should be. Is it in the Yoast SEO general meta box located at the bottom of my page? Or is it in the main SEO area that I access on my WordPress dashboard in the left main menu?

(NOTE: This is happening on my clients wordpress installation)

    1) I deactivated every plugin except Yoast SEO. The Yoast SEO editing widget at the bottom of Edit/Page is still not there. I switched to the Twenty Seven theme and it’s still not showing up.

    2) Yes

    3) Yes, I’m assuming it’s the Edit Page area since the Yoast SEO editing widget doesn’t show up at the bottom of the page.

Strange thing is, on my own personal web site WordPress installation, the Yoast editing widget at the bottom of Edit/Page shows up but the Snippet Preview is gone in the Content Optimization section. That section is totally blank.

The snippet preview is in the Yoast SEO meta box that appears below the content when editing a post/page.

If the meta box doesn’t show up, this typically happens when the meta box is hidden.

Please try the suggestions here: Yoast SEO meta box is missing

That’s odd. Yoast SEO doesn’t show up as an option to check in the screen options of the page editor on my clients site. It DOES show up as an option on my own site. Both sites use the exact same theme too. Perhaps deleting and re-installing Yoast?

I deleted Yoast plugin, reinstalled and reactivated it and still have no Yoast SEO in screen options.
