Hi,
but I wondered; if I change my log in url, is it useful to redirect the standard /wp-admin and /wp-login.php to a all different url so log in attempts will disappear?
Yes this will help a lot. Also check the following documentation to learn more about pingback protection as well.
https://mbrsolution.com/wordpress/aiowps-plugin-pingback-protection-settings.php
Let me know if the above helps you.
Thank you
Hi mrbsolution, thank you for your reply. I read the article (after reading some more on XML RPC and ticked the ‘block acces to xmlrpc’ functionality. I will see if this already helps.
I changed my admin log-in name a few times but I see in the notifications that for some reason my log-in name has been discovered a day later? how can the figure that out so fast? Any idea on what to do about that?
And the last question; can I redirect the standard log-in page with the AIOWPS plug-in or should I use a redirect plug-in?
Thank you so much!
Hi,
I will see if this already helps.
Let me know in the next couple of days if the issue is resolved.

The url I shared above explains how they try to access via your login form.
Thank you
Hello mbrsolution, it was quiet for two days, but this morning my mailbox was full again with failed login attempts. Now I will change the login url. When I do that and I still get those messages, does that mean that they know what the login url is?

No, there is no way they can find out your secret URL unless they hack into your site and read the secret name in the settings.
Kind regards
