Support » Plugin: RSS Aggregator by Feedzy - Powerful WP Autoblogging and News Aggregator » Is Read More Link Hook for PRO Only?

  • Resolved webfoundryhg

    Hi there-

    I’m adding Feedzy to a website to show a Single Post that is not imported – and need 2 buttons to show below the summary text:
    1) a READ MORE for the single post
    2) a link to the blog landing page.

    We found the hook for Add a read more link and I added it to our existing functions.php.

    It doesn’t seem to be working & was wondering if that’s a Pro only feature?

    Also, is there another hook, free or Pro that would allow to add another link at the bottom that I could use for the link to the blog landing?

    Thanks so much-

    @webfoundryhg you are using the correct hook and you can use it to add as many buttons as you want. Could you please share the below for us to help you?

    • paste the full shortcode you are using
    • link to the page where this shortcode is present
    • screenshot of where you have added the snippet

    Hi there-

    Thanks for looking. I have this set up on a stripped down demo website for now.

    [feedzy-rss feeds=”” max=”1″ feed_title=”no” refresh=”12_hours” target=”_self” meta=”yes” summary=”yes” summarylength=”300″ thumb=”yes” size=”800″ http=”force” ]

    we also tried
    [feedzy-rss feeds=”” max=”1″ feed_title=”no” refresh=”12_hours” sort=”date_desc” target=”_self” title=”200″ meta=”yes” summary=”yes” summarylength=”300″ thumb=”yes” size=”800″ http=”force” template=’style2′ columns=”1″ ]

    and you’ll see a 3rd where we added a 2nd feed to try to create the read more.

    PAGE: in the Password box type hgdemo to view page & screenshot below

    @webfoundryhg you may want to try this instead

    function bweb_feedzy_readmore( $content, $link, $feedURL ) {
        $content = str_replace( array( '[…]', '[…]', '[&hellip;]' ), '<a href="' . $link . '" target="_blank">' . __('Read more', 'yourTextDomain') . ' &rarr;</a>', $content );
        return $content;
    add_filter( 'feedzy_summary_output', 'bweb_feedzy_readmore', 9, 3 );

    There is a small bug with our code which we will fix in an upcoming release.

    @webfoundryhg we have released a new version that should fix this.
