Is $notification-color used anywhere?

As I said in my review: great plugin, and I am enjoying re-learning SASS and the pleasure of having variables when dealing with color.
Re $notification-color (and ‘notification color’ in general): I did not see this variable used anywhere in the plugin files, apart from being defined in _variables.scss
And even with the WP originally provided color schemes, I don’t see the ‘notification color’ appearing anywhere on the Admin pages.
So: Where on WP Admin pages should I expect to see a ‘notification color used’? Or might this be something that, in the final 3.8 product, was ultimately not used. Thanks.
