I’ll try and be as succint as possible here:
I am a .NET developer working for a company that needs to produce a CMS-based website that will host 1000’s of images. These images need to be searchable by their tags. This need to be done by end of january. So i want the quikest/cleanest solution possible. I do not know php and am only vaguely familiar with mysql so I am looking for a solution I can configure rather than code given the timeframe we have.
We would put the onus on the main user to upload and tag all the images, which I assume they would do via Adboe Lightroom or similar
As a wordpress.com user myself, I instantly thought of wordpress and the image gallery requirement naturally lead me to research the nextgen plugin.
I have searched around for whether the availability for website users to search by image tags is built in and found a few links like:
But these are all quite old (over 2 years old).
Can someone confirm if the ability to search by image tags for users is available “out of the box”? If not can you recommend a tutorial or resource where I can find out how to do this please? I am loathe to dive into php if I can avoid it and as I said would much prefer this solution to be one I can configure rather than code if that is at all possible.
Hope someone can help
