Is Multisite for ecommerce site recommended?

    Hello,

    I am creating a website where I will putting people in contact having two sections in it:
    1.- People announcing tasks to be done -> http://www.mywebsite.com/tasks
    2.- Task ‘doers’ who want to bid for those tasks -> http://www.mywebsite.com/taksdoers

    I have read numerous comments about whether to use Multisite or not and unfortunately it is still not very clear for me whether in my case is convenient to do so. I want to have only one database so I can match those people properly. Also payments for performing those tasks can be done through a website.

    It’s a great big ‘It depends.’

    What do the ‘tasks’ have to do with ecommerce? You mean they’re selling/hiring?

    If a person A posts a task, then task doers will bid to have that task assigned to them. Person A will select a person among them (person B). Once the task is completed, person A will pay the amount agreed and my website will process the payment, taking a fee out of it (hence ecommerce somehow).

    Do you think I would need Multisite to have the tasks listed on one side, and the pool of people willing to do them and listing their skills in other?

    It’s certainly one way to do it. The problem is there isn’t one ‘true’ way for it, and there are a lot of options. I would not use Multisite for this though as the cross-linking between sites is not functionally matching watch you need without some serious work.

    I’ve have to look around at all the various ecommerce plugins and see which ones were best with virtual products. A Jobs Board type thing, like jobs.wordpress.net, might be best.

    I think I’m not going to use Multisite finally and will use a job boar theme for that (probably Job Engine).
