• I have already installed multisite and with the help of this forum have it up and running. However, the more I dig into multisite and its functionality (much of which I want to disable), I’m questioning whether it is a good fit or not for what I am wanting to do.

I want to create a network of sites for my users that will use subdomains and that will allow me to create a site for them where they

    CAN:
    create pages
    add posts
    add links
select between a limited set of themes, but not install new ones
    integrate with social sites

    CANNOT:
    install plugins
    edit any core/template files
    view dashboard
do anything that would effect other sites in this network or my main site.

Is Multisite still a good fit for what I’m trying to accomplish or are there better ways to do these things?

    Thank you,
    Devin

    Multisite will let your users:

    create posts and pages
    Add links
select themes but not install them
activate/deactivate plugins but not install them (which will let them integrate with social sites) — Unless you turn off the plugin menu for them
view their SITE dashboard, but not the network one

So yeah, it can do it 🙂 You won’t even need to disable anything.
