I’m terribly nervous. I want to move a multisite (from an addon domain at bluehost to its own non-addon at bluehost).

It looks simple enough but I’ve never done it so…
download all the files from my old site
    upload them to the new
export my database then import it
edit wp-config.php with my new database/user information

    Right? Did I miss anything.

    I’m a Nervous Nelly.

  • If you aren’t changing the WordPress directory structure and you are using the same domain, you should have no problems.

Yeah, should be fine 🙂 As long as you’re going from like domain1.com/blog to domain2.com, it’s pretty painless 🙂

    Thanks for the reassurances.

    ancawonka and Ipstenu,

You both were correct. I still managed to get a database error, but that was due to my not assigning the database user any permissions. Quickly resolved.

I post this for others who are intimidated by the moving process. It really was as simple as stated. The most tiring part was downloading all the folders and images and then uploading them to the new server.
