Is mamp mandatory?

    MAMP is not mandatory. It’s only needed if you want to develop your site locally.

    Please keep in mind if you edit your theme files directly on your server, you won’t have a backup if something goes wrong, so I recommend first editing in a code editor then uploading via FTP. And always save a copy of your original before you start making changes.
