Last modified: August 20, 2016 --- # Is language_attributes link missing on the Function Reference page? * [Quantum Monty](https://wordpress.org/support/users/quantum-monty/) * (@quantum-monty) * [14 years, 9 months ago](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/is-language_attributes-link-missing-on-the-function-reference-page/) * Dear All – * I tried looking up information about a WP function for the first time today, by going to the [Function Reference](http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference) page and doing a text search on the function name: “language_attributes”. * It didn’t show up. * A page does exist for it, [here](http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/language_attributes), but I can’t seem to get to it from the main Function Reference page. * Is this intended behavior? Caveat – I’m a terrible scanner. It could be there in my face and I missed it. Thanks in advance, * – Louis * PS I often get “Why’d you do it that way? Do it this way instead” and “you answered your own question, so what’s the deal?” responses to my posts, so I’ll add this. * As to why I did it that way, and not a direct Google search of “WP language_attributes”– I *like* doing text searches on reference pages. It’s like flipping through a dictionary. I never know what other jewel I might stumble upon while searching for what I originally intended. For example, I switched it up a bit, and found: - “language” returns one function hit – mu_dropdown_languages - “attribute” returns one function hit – attribute_escape * As to why I’m still concerned – I’m seeing language_attributes as a “first order of business” on many pages in the tag. It’s the first function I see in the tutorial I’m following. Why hide this function from view, if it is a staple? Go to the page in question and log in with the same credentials you use here. Edit the page to include that stuff and save the page. Now you have helped maintain the codex and we all appreciate it.
