Support » Plugin: Caldera Forms - More Than Contact Forms » Is it time to move on? A new form plugin?

  • I’m feeling like at this point the company that acquired Caldera Forms is just going to push out a patch here and there to fix any major bugs that arise (due to their acquisition). Though they’re not technically abandoning Caldera, I’m not confident that they’re going to be making any improvements.

Is anybody else feeling this way? Is it time to move on and start evaluating other form plugins?

I’ve always loved CalderaForm because it was easy to get exactly the look I wanted for my contact forms.

Now I still have questions like you do.
In 2020, not being able to connect recpatcha to a contact form plugin on WordPress is just unthinkable.

Since I’m not willing to pay per YEAR for their anti-spam, I think I’ll explore other avenues, but here’s the thing, I’d love to stay with CalderaForm.

The other options are : CF7 (just discovered an additional plugin :
    “CF7 Smart Grid Design Extension”

The other one is ninja forms.

It’s still hard to imagine that there isn’t a simple and effective one!

@tabasko – Yes, swapping out this plugin for another one is a daunting task for me. Good luck on whichever route you take.

Thanks. If you have any suggestion to share, I will be curious to test.

Have you tried adding the Caldera Forms Anti Spam plugin (by Yoohoo Plugins)? It enables the addition of a reCAPTCHA to a Caldera form.

I am building a new website to replace an old one that has Caldera Forms (V 1.4.9.1) installed, plus a plugin called Caldera Forms Custom. I was looking on the CF website to learn more about it, particularly its conditional logic capabilities. On the documentation pages it refers to a screencast, but there’s no link to a screencast. I found other pages that show placeholders for tutorial videos, but when you click them, you get an error saying the video cannot be found. As well, I found text with HTML code for a link visible instead of the text having a hyperlink behind it.

Now I see this post in the support forum. I am quickly coming to the conclusion that this plugin is no longer supported. Too bad, because it looks like a good form building plugin.
