Is it possible to use “Child rows with Responsive” with the Inline Google Spreadsheet Viewer?

There’s one question on here about it, but it just says ‘go ask DataTables.’

However, the DataTables site doesn’t have any reference to the Inline Google Spreadsheet Viewer.

So… is it possible to integrate the ‘Child rows with Responsive’ with the ‘Inline Google Spreadsheet Viewer’?

No, my answer is not “no,” it is that I haven’t tried, I’m not going to try, and so I encourage you (as I wrote above) to try it and see. This isn’t a mythic riddle.

It appears a lot of people have tried, but can’t get it to work.

I was hoping someone here had succeeded in getting it to work.

It looks like the “Inline Google Spreadsheet Viewer” isn’t compatible with DataTables “Child rows” functionality 🙁

That doesn’t seem correct to me. DataTables’s “Child rows” functionality is part of the DataTables API, which you have complete access to. It’s just a JavaScript call. If you don’t know what that means then your options are, as usual, A) learn how to do it yourself, or B) get someone to do it for you. But “not compatible” is incorrect because the feature is entirely orthogonal to this plugin’s features. This plugin turns your data in Google Sheets or wherever into the HTML, and then DataTables can do what it wants with that HTML, including making “child rows.” But at that point you are using DataTables, so go ask questions about DataTables on the DataTables forum (again, not some mythic riddle).

I’ve found that the most success by using IGSV to do the API/data call, while using jQuery to initiate the DataTable myself… allowing for complete customization the DataTables parameters and functionality.
