Is it possible to remove the custom taxonomy “event categories”?

    Hi,

    I’m thinking about removing the event-specific event-categories and (instead) use the normal post-categories, so users can use the same cats for posts and events. And we want to build Archive-Pages that list different post_types in a Category.

    Adding the built-in categories is no problem, though it is a normal cpt, but the ‘event-categories’ of Event-Calendar seem to be no custom taxonomy, right?

    Is this a supported idea? Do I miss anything? Any remarks on this idea?
