    Hi Jonathan,

It’s not currently possible to link to specific tabs, as far as I know jQuery UI makes no provision for this. If this is something that would be of use to you though then it’s something I can look at adding to a future version of the plugin.

    Hi Matt,

There’s a couple of articles on it:

I’m not hacker though, but I’ll try to modify your plug to support this. Will let you know if I’m able.

I already tested their claim that you can use the anchor of the tab, it doesn’t seem to work and also causes the page to jump down to the tab group on page load; Not what most people will want. Additionally there needs to be a mechanism for adding the details of open tabs to the URL to allow copying+pasting of the URL, keeping all tabs open as they were… This means finding a reasonably neat way to add that information to the URL while clicking around the page.

On top of all of that some users might not like the extra information that is added to the URL, so it would need to be a switchable option in the configuration panel.

This functionality might also be useful for accordions and horizontal accordions too, but some users might only want it for tabs and not for accordions, or whatever, so the configuration panel would need an option for each type of widget.

I’ll schedule this for 0.3, it’s a bit too late for 0.2 which is being finalised at the moment.
