Is it possible to have thumbnail rollover text?

Hi,
I’m looking for a plugin which will give me a text overlay on my thumbnails when the mouse hovers on them.
Here’s a couple of examples of the type of thing I’m thinking:
This is basically what I’d love to use, but just on thumbnails –

And this gives a thumbnail example, but I’d want to be able to see the image underneath rather than have it replaced:

Now I love WordPress, I’m a fairly recent convert, but I’m just loving it, I have some basic to mid-level knowledge of CSS, but php is just beyond me, it may as well be written in Russian… Which is why I’m hoping there’s a plugin as I’m just rubbish at coding.
