Yes, I figured that, but what I would want to do is to add a location without having to use the Google map in the admin part. In other words I just want to type in a name or city for the location, not giving a full address and generate a location on a map.
Sometimes I want to use the map and sometimes not, but I would still like to have a location name.
I think the only way to do that would be to use a custom field / attribute to store the “name-only” locations. This should help if you decide to go that route:

OK, I think I understand how to do that. Will try on a local test site and see how it works out.
For event lists, event pages, widgets etc. is it possible to use something like “if has_location” else “name-only” or should I just have all lists etc. showing the custom field /attribute in any way and just use the has_location to show a map if there is a regular location? (if that question made any sense?)
