Is it possible to edit the mo and po files directly?

    Some of the German translations are not as precise as I would like to see them. Is it possible to directly edit the .mo and .po files and load them back to the database as described in some of the recent postings? I already made a try but I did not get what I expected.

    Solved: I edited with PoEdit locally and uploaded it back to the site. Now it works as expected.
