Support » Plugin: AMP for WP - Accelerated Mobile Pages » Is it possible to apply AMP to a few specific posts only?

  • Hi guys,

I searched the support docs, the forum and I’ve also done a quick testing on the staging environment.

So far I wasn’t able to implement AMP on a few single posts only (the options are pages/posts).

I am wondering if such an option exists or if you are planning to introduce one.
I think it could very helpful for many people to smoothen their transition into AMP (instead of going from 0 to 100).

We have updated our documentation for this: https://ampforwp.com/tutorials/article/allow-amp-only-on-few-posts-or-pages/

Please let me know if that helps you or not.

    This is wonderful Ahmed!
    Absolutely love this option.

I went through the documentation and the wording and instruction could be a bit clearer.

For example: should we toggle this on “off” if we only want to test AMP on a few pages?
    I guess so..

And I guess that step 4 refers to selecting the “show AMP for current page” on a single post/page level, right?

The post with lots of shortcodes made it look more complicated than it actually is in my opinion.
A picture of a post with some actual words in it would make it clearer.

As per the first screenshot, those should be on,

and then as per the second screenshot, it will be “hide” by default. If you want to turn on the AMP support on that page, then just select the “Show” in the post settings.

    Hope that is clear.

Also, which Shortcodes are you talking about?

    Oh, they should be on,OK.

Yes it’s clear now thank you Ahmed!

    I’m talking these shortcodes here:

A picture with a “normal” post might have been clearer for users.
    But it’s small stuff.

    Hi Ahmed,

I have tried it but it’s not working.

I did put “hide by default”: b

ut all posts still have “show” checked:

Regarding the documentation, we will update that screenshot for sure.

It should work perfectly, Can you check other posts? like 5 or 6 of them and confirm if the same things happening?

If it does, then try to switch to “Show” and then switch to “Hide” again and then try. If not, then let me know and I will debug it further.

Did you guys remove the options with the latest update?

We did not remove it, Can you go to General and check if AMP is enabled on Posts and Pages?

If the AMP is disabled on posts or pages, then that section doesn’t show.

    Please check and confirm.
