Is it possible to add title tags to searched pages in a database? (5 posts)

To avoid be penalized by Google in rankings due to duplicate title tages, is it possible with All In One SEO Pack to add unique title tags to searched pages from a database that are framed in a page?

I have a real estate website http://www.locatehome.com/ and I use the flexmls® IDX Plugin plug-in (http://wordpress.org/plugins/flexmls-idx/) to pull search results from our Multiple Listing service using the "Quick Search" widget in addition to saved search links to show the results of pre-set searches, such as all homes for in a particular city. Both are viewable in the left sidebar of my home page. For instance, the link for homes in Fargo brings up the results in this page:

    http://www.locatehome.com/mls/search/?SavedSearch=20130712200935548197000000&City=Fargo&PropertyType=A

Google indexes the pages, but since the results show up framed, Google Webmaster Tools shows hundreds of duplicate page titles and meta descriptions. I've tried deleting the title of the page, but even so, it shows up with a vertical pipe (|) in the title tag, so it would still show duplicates on all search results.

  2. Hi Dave,

You cannot inject anything into a frame. Framed content has to be edited at the source, i.e. wherever the frame is coming from.

Thank you for the quick reply.

All in One SEO seems to have a way to write title tags or overwrite the original title tags. Is there no function within All in One SEO that can handle writing unique title tags for a page that shows search results from an offsite database? Google does crawl and index the individual homes listed for sale in the MLS database, which is good for SEO, but the duplicate titles are a problem.

If nothing can b, would the only solution be if the developer of the flexmls® IDX Plugin can add a function to create title tags for the pages brought up in the database search and somehow add it to the head of my page being used to frame the results? Or is that impossible?

  4. Hi Dave,

There is nothing that we can do with framed content. If you want SEO titles added to framed content then it must be done at the source. Talk to the developer of the flexmls IDX plugin.
