• I’ve read all the horror stories and I know I would end up having issues because I’m not really savvy at these technical things.

I am using the Cutline theme and I made some adjustments to it, so I’m wondering if the upgrade would revert those adjustments back to default, where I would have to spend another week trying to get them back to where I had them.

I really hate spending time sorting out fatal errors and coding issues and all that stuff that usually comes with these things.

  • WP 2.3.2 changes nothing in your theme files. Just make sure you do not write over your existing THEME folder.

I think it is necessary as 2.3.2 fixes some security issues. Many, many people have upgraded (including myself) with no problems. It is just a matter of following instructions.

You don’t here about the good on a support forum only the bad.

    Kmessinger,

I know many people have switched with no problem, but some people are just more apt to these matters.

I consider myself a smart man, but these things always do my head in. And I always find myself spending more time than I should.

And I really haven’t found the WP’s instructions to be that clear, although I do know they are much clearer than other companies.

I need Upgrading for Dummies. Maybe some visuals.

Hee, hee – yes, I have been there on many projects, not just upgrading.

Like mrkingid said don’t overwrite the themes folder – that is probably the most important. If you have a good copy of of your site (or maybe two copies) it is hard to be more prepared.

That is the way it is with computers. They make life easier.

There is a WP for Dummies book. It might explain upgrading more thoroughy.
