 * Hello,
    I was trying to figure out how a particular plugin works by looking at
   the code. But I am having a hard time with it. The filter plugin declares a global
   called $id and starts using it right way. Is $id an reserved wordpress variable?

 * The global $id is one of WordPress’s variables that gets set during the Loop,
   yes. It holds the post ID.
